Royal Enfield with Bigger Barrel – 650cc Teased

Royal Enfield has just released a teaser of a brand new custom motorcycle that is based around the new 650cc, parallel twin engine. Royal Enfield will be introducing this heavier engine (650cc) in the Interceptor and Continental GT motorcycles in few months time. The video teasers shows a custom motorcycle called LockStock  which will be showcased at Bike Shed Motorcycle Club in London in a day or two. It’s been officially commissioned by Royal Enfield.

Strategically, Royal Enfield uses these custom motorcycles to create a buzz around its brand.

Watch Royal Enfield 650cc Teaser

The video shows the Royal Enfield custom motorcycle that comes with rorty exhaust note, which exhibits quite a different thump than Royal Enfield’s single cylinder motorcycles are known for. The 650cc twin from Royal Enfield gets a deep bassy rumble at the idle and the exhaust note changes to a very throaty roar.

650cc Bigger Engine  – More Power and Torque

Royal Enfield’s  650cc engine is a parallel-twin with an air-oil cooled layout. The 650cc engine  uses a 270 degree crank for the unique exhaust note, and is also modern with a single overhead camshaft running 4 valves in each head.  This powerful engine from Royal Enfield churns out 47 bhp of peak power and 52 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox that comes with a slipper clutch.

Most Advanced Engine Yet from Royal Enfield

The 650cc parallel twin cylinder engine is the most advanced unit that Royal Enfield has ever produced. These engines shall propel the Interceptor and Continental GT motorcycles to a top speed of over 160 Kmph.

Royal Enfield shall introduce the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 in  the developed markets first and in India, it will be out at the end of this year (2018).  Additionally the dual channel ABS will be standard on both motorcycles, making them the safest Royal Enfield motorcycles.
