Husqvarna is owned by Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM and Bajaj own 48 percent stake in KTM. Since the acquisition of Husqvarna there were plans that the company will be launched in India. Source suggest that  KTM is shifting the  production of two of the entry level bikes of Husqvarna to the Chakan plant of Bajaj. The bikes that are planned to manufactured in India are Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401.  Both these bikes share the same engine as  KTM Duke 390 . In fact KTM exports Duke/RC 390 from India to all the major countries like US, Europe, Asia and several other regions.

Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401  from Husqvarna is launched already in global markets and currently these products are manufactured at Mattighofen, Austria. Since the powertrain  for these bikes are already from India from KTM bikes, so it makes scenes for Husqvarna to shift production to Chakan plant.

The Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 is the sixth and seventh products to be manufactured exclusive for global markets in India along with other KTM models. Husqvarna will price its entry level model slightly above KTM Duke 390 which is currently priced at Rs. 2.2 lakh.

The production of the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 is expected to begin in India by end of 2018 or early 2019. Husqvarna will be introduced by Bajaj later this year after the launch of the much awaited KTM Adventure 390 . expect the new brand to hit the market in mid 2019
