Fuel

All bikes depend on petrol and diesel, at least today, and their prices are not set to go a long-distance downhill. This rise hurts the budget-conscious consumer every time. To top it off, bikes that can’t even give a good mileage is bothersome to the consumer.

Purchasing bikes with a good mileage only help to a certain extent. You have to do your bit, to ensure that the bike saves fuel to ensure maximum benefits.  So, follow these tips and save money:

  1. Try not to push the throttle much during the first 3-5 kilometers as the bike’s engine is still cold, and it will suck in more fuel to deliver.
  2. The choke provided should be used, particularly, during the first ride of the day as the choke would be able to provide lubricants in sufficient amounts to the engine parts, which would ensure efficiency.
  3. The tire pressure of the bike should be maintained.
  4. You should learn to change the engine oil frequently, or as instructed by the manufacturer. The time gap between each change depends on the type of oil used, the climate and the distance ridden.
  5. Learn to turn the engine off during traffic signals. Not only saves fuel, this would protect the environment as well.
  6. Learn not to apply brakes and change gears quickly. A quick gear change would have a side effect on your bike’s performance, along with reducing the mileage.
  7. Keep your bike up-to-date on services.
  8. Have regular checks for the fuel tanks, pipes and filters to remove any alien substances, if.
  9. Try to ride your bike in the top gear and at a constant speed of 40kmph to 60kmph. Try not shooting over 70kmph.
