2015 edition of Volvo XC90 launched in India
The Volvo XC90 made its global debut in August last year. Volvo has now unveiled the second generation of Volvo XC90 luxury SUV in India which goes on sale at the end of this year competing against Mercedes GL-Class as well as the Audi Q7.
The all-new XC90 which was launched today replaces the generation 1 model of Volvo XC90 after a long gap of twelve years. The 2015 Volvo XC90 has witnessed some major improvements over its predecessor. The new generation XC90 is based on the Swedish carmaker’s new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) modular platform and barrows the design cues from the concept of XC Coupe.
The 2015 Volvo XC90 retains the silhouette from its predecessor, Also the Volvo XC90 comes with a striking bold front fascia that gives an urban and muscular look and feature with a big and wide grille and the new “Thor’s Hammer” T-Shaped LED daytime running lights that has its own classy beauty.
Talking about the dimensions of new XC90. the SUV measures at 4950mm in length, 1923mm in width and 1776mm in height and with a wheelbase of 2984mmthe.
The car comes in 2 variants: Momentum and Inscription. The Inscription is the top end model with all the sophisticated features. The Volvo XC90 Inscription SUV rides on 20-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, while it is 19-inchers on the lower Momentum variant.
Specifications of Volvo XC90
When it comes to powertrain of Volvo XC90, according to specifications of Indian model, the Volvo XC90 would be propelled by the 2.0 litre twin-turbo 4 cylinder D5 diesel engine that outputs a power of 225 HP and a maximum torque of 470 Nm, the car has been mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission with All-Wheel Drive as standard. Volvo India is also looking forward to bring the 2015 XC90 via the CBU route in the country and has commenced accepting orders for the flagship SUV from today.
